Katie reached out to me about mini sessions I was offering at Barefoot Lakes in Firestone, CO because she thought it would be a fun date activity. We scheduled a time, and then she reached back out to share the news that she was hoping to propose! I was thrilled- proposals are one of my favorite things to capture.
We started the session off normally, with a few prompts to get them warmed up and comfortable before the big moment.
I instructed James to turn his back to Katie, and we exchanged a confirming nod to ensure she was ready. She pulled out the ring as he turned around, and gladly accepted her proposal.
As the couple came closer together, I noticed James’ hand slyly reach into his pocket, as he pulled out his grandmother’s ring and slid down onto one knee. I was just as surprised as Katie! I remember her exclaiming, “is this really happening?!”
It was such a memorable experience for me, and I can’t help but smile as I think about how this lovely couple’s kids and grandkids will react to hearing and seeing this story unfold.
