We hadn’t planned to adopt another cat, but after some research on single cat syndrome, we started wondering if our cat, Graham, might benefit from a friend.
One afternoon, while out with our dog Tae, we wandered by the adoptable cats (something we always do) and ended up talking with a volunteer from the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition. We told her about Graham’s feisty personality, and she said she knew the perfect cat for us.
We applied for a cat named Ivy, but due to a mix-up, we were accidentally invited to meet her when we weren’t supposed to. The foster kindly let us meet her other litter instead- and that’s when we met Millie, who was bunny-kicking one of her siblings. We knew right then she was meant to be ours.
Millie came home a few weeks later after her spay surgery, and she was full of spunk and sweetness. But within days, we noticed something was off. Her appetite was okay, but her energy was dipping, and her digestive issues kept worsening. After several vet visits, we were referred to the ER, where they suspected a simple bug. Eight days later, she passed away from FIP.
The smallest feet make the biggest impact on our hearts.
FIP is fast, vicious, and often fatal. It had only recently become treatable, and we started her on a new medication the moment we received a diagnosis. We connected with an incredible community of FIP cat parents who helped us get a faster-acting version of the drug when the one we had been trying wasn't working fast enough. Millie passed just a few hours after her first dose of the faster medication, in my mom’s arms, with Daniel by her side.
She was only three months old, but she made a huge impact on our lives. She was talkative, loving, and already felt like home. We only had a few weeks together, which makes the few photos we have of her before the illness became visible absolutely priceless.
We wish we had taken more.
This mission is our way of keeping Millie’s spirit alive while helping other cats and encouraging others to include their feline companions in photos- because their time with us is never long enough.

Why this mission matters
Those numbers above are more than just statistics- they represent real cats like Millie. Cats with stories, families that fought as hard as they could to save their cats, and futures that deserve a chance.
When Millie was diagnosed with FIP, we learned firsthand how underprepared the veterinary world still is to treat it- even though treatment exists. Our journey was filled with conflicting information, limited access to medication, and the heartbreaking realization that many vets still don’t know how to support FIP treatment.
We relied on Facebook groups and fellow cat parents to get answers- not because our vets didn’t care, but because they simply weren’t trained in how to help.
That’s why this mission exists.
To honor Millie.
To raise awareness.
And to help fund the research, shelters, and resources that can give other cats a fighting chance.

Millie's Legacy
Millie may have only been with us for a short time, but the impact she made was lasting. Through this mission, we hope to keep her spirit alive- not just in our own hearts, but in the lives of other cats who deserve a fighting chance.
Every cat included in a session or wedding, every photo taken, and every donation made in her name is a step toward more awareness, more access to treatment, and more love shared.
This isn’t just about our story.
It’s about yours too.
Because every cat leaves a mark, and every mark deserves to be remembered.
Thank you for helping us carry her legacy forward.
In Loving Memory
