Rachel and Christian’s Boulder Museum of Contemporary Arts wedding was the perfect mix of black-tie elegance and cozy winter magic. Set against the backdrop of New Year’s Eve in downtown Boulder, every part of their day felt intentional, emotional, and full of meaning.

A New Year’s Eve Boulder Museum of Contemporary Arts Wedding to Remember
Rachel and Christian’s love story goes all the way back to 2015 — back to balcony hangouts, hikes, movie nights, and the sweetest slow-burn friendship you could imagine. Fast forward nine years (and one adorable dog named Lady later), and they were ready to say “I do” surrounded by their closest people.
They kicked off the day getting ready at the community center in their apartment complex — laid-back, simple, and full of excitement. From there, they had a beautiful, traditional Lutheran ceremony at Trinity Lutheran Church before heading out into the chilly Boulder air to celebrate.

Art, Light, and a Little Magic
Choosing to host a Boulder Museum of Contemporary Arts wedding was a no-brainer. Not only is it one of the coolest spots in town, but the seasonal art exhibit during their wedding — themed “Reflections” — couldn’t have been more perfect. A room full of mirrors and light installations? Literal magic for wedding photos.

One of the best moments of the day was their walk along Pearl Street from the church to the museum. Holiday lights still lined the street, and as they walked with their family and friends, people leaned over balconies and shouted out congratulations. It felt like the whole city was celebrating with them.

Favorite Photo Highlights
Honestly, this day was a dream for documentary-style photography. Some favorite moments:
- Their emotional first look at Chautauqua Park, with the Flatirons in the background
- Romantic, playful portraits in the museum’s reflections exhibit
- Candid shots of them strolling down Pearl Street under the holiday lights
- Handwritten & personalized notes for each of their guests
- Emotional moments during the ceremony and toasts
- A dance floor full of family and friends ringing in the New Year together
Rachel and Christian’s day was a reminder that you don’t need a massive guest list to have a celebration that feels huge in meaning. Their love, the energy of their people, and the magic of Boulder in winter made it unforgettable.
